For Unto Us A Child Is Born

Hello and welcome.  With everyone so busy this Christmas season shopping, decorating, traveling, etc, it's easy to lose sight of the reason for the season.  So with that in mind, I'd like to share a card I've made for a few challenges.

I started out by stamping my saying For Unto Us E14756, from Impression Obsession, in memento black onto white glossy card stock.  Once the ink was dry, I then stippled some Tim Holtz concord grape distress ink, along with Stampin Up garden green and real red, over the entire panel before taking a cotton ball and wiping the excess ink off then layering.  I then repeatedly stamped the same saying in memento rhubarb stalk onto the front of my card before stippling some real red ink around the edges.  I then used some scrap card stock with my Impression Obsession pine sprig cluster die (Die097-M) and my big shot to create my floral sprays.  I did lightly stipple creamy caramel and close to cocoa inks over, and around, the pine cones before adhering the spray using Ranger crystal accents.  My final embellishments was some gold cord from my stash.

Challenges entered:

Impression Obsession - Holiday Greetings
Pammies Inky Pinkies #1850 - Anything Goes
Outlawz Festive Friday 122118 - Christmas

Thanks for stopping by today.  Have a great day and a very Merry Christmas!!!!

Kneeling Santa

Hello and welcome.  Sharing today a last minute Christmas card I've made for a few challenges using the retired Reason For The Season, although you can still get just the Santa image here from Our Daily Bread Designs.  I've had this set for years and have never used it until now.  Can you say BIG mistake??

After stamping my image in memento black and coloring using copic markers, I stippled some Tim Holtz scattered straw and old paper distress inks to "age" it a bit before layering and adding brushed gold mini brads.  I decided to do the same for the card front saying.  I then repeatedly stamped another saying from the set in memento rhubarb stalk ink to create my background before stippling Stampin Up real red ink around the edges.  The only additional embellishments used is a small red bow, gold cord, and some Making Memories paper poinsettias from my stash.

I'd like to enter this into the following challenges:

Bearing Gifts 2018 and Some More Never Before/Rarely Used Stuff (NBUS/RBUS)

Hello and welcome!!!  As we finish the final countdown until Christmas, I'm rushing to finish Christmas cards I'm sending out.  (Note to self: start making them in January - again.  **sigh**)

Today I'd like to share a card made using one of my all time favorite stamps period.  It's an old retired one from Stampendous (2004) called Wise Siamese.  After stamping the image in memento black ink then coloring with copic markers, I sponged some Tim Holtz faded jeans distress ink and Stampin Up sahara sand around the edges before layering.  I then took a scrap of Stampin Up not quite navy card stock to use as a border and embossed it using my big shot and a cuttlebug snowflake embossing folder before sponging navy ink over the embossing to help highlight the border.  I then popped up the layered panel over my embossed border on a card made using some rarely used (RBUS) Stampin Up sahara sand and some new (NBUS) Recollections designer paper my daughter bought me.  The only embellishments I used were some rarely used (RBUS) Stampin Up not quite navy brads, ice stickles  Wise Siamese crowns/collars, and a small navy bow sticker.

I'd like to enter this card into the following challenges:

Pammies Inky Pinkies 1850 - Anything Goes
Show Us Your Pussycats 37 - Anything Goes
Outlawz Monday Greetings GCC121718 - Merry Christmas
Outlawz Festive Friday 121418 - Christmas

Dear Santa

Hello everyone and welcome.  Today I'd like to share a card I've made for a few challenges using the Stella Dear Santa Note from Bugaboo Digital Stamps.  I absolutely LOVE this image!!  Probably because it's a note I would write.

After printing off the image, I colored it using both prismacolor and copic markers before stippling some Tim Holtz fired brick distress ink around the edges.  I then layered it using card stock and designer paper scraps.  I then used a retired Stampin Up holly jumbo wheel with fired brick distress ink to create the card background.  I then added some silver brads, prima poinsettia flowers and paper ornament along with holly red ice stickles for Stella's earrings.  My final embellishments was silver cord ribbon and copic spica pens to highlight the note and ornaments in the image.

Today I'd like to share another Christmas card I've made using a Bugaboo Stamps digital image I've had for a while and have never used (NBUS) yet called Make It Snappy - Meowy Christmas.

After printing off the image and colored using both prismacolor and copic markers, I layered it onto some scrap card stock before adding some silver brads.  I then adhered it to a card made using scraps of Recollections designer paper before adding some prima poinsettia flowers along with holly leaves punched from more scrap card stock.  The final touches was adding some stamped highlights to the holly leaves, card and then silver cord and silver dew drops to the poinsettia's.

Tis The Season....

Hello and welcome.  I know it's been some time since my last post.  My migraines and overall health has been not that good.  With that in mind, I'm trying to get some Christmas cards done before Christmas week.  Shoot!  I'd love to just get anything done to keep my mind occupied.

The card I'm sharing today was inspired by all those Black Friday, Cyber Monday, and grouchy shoppers.   The image is from Bugaboo Digital Stamps and is called Stella Christmas - Psycho.  I started off by printing the image then coloring using both prismacolor and copic markers.  Once that was finished, I layered the image and card before adding some silver cord and brads.  For my final touches, I sponged some Tim Holtz pine needles distress ink around the edges of the card and added a floral spray using card stock scraps and Martha Stewart punches.  The final touch was spritzing some Stampin Up garden green marker over the card front.

Once the front of the card was finished, I made my own "punch line" saying for the inside us MSWord then printed it out to crop and add.  The final inside touches were two Jolee's ornament stickers I've had in my stash for years.

I'm really happy with how this card turned out. I'd like to enter it into the following challenges:

Bugaboo Stamps - December Anything Goes
Outlawz Festive Friday - FF120718 Christmas

Purple Spiders Web

Hello and welcome.  Please forgive the length of time between posts, my migraines have been very active again.

Today I'd like to share a card I've made for this month's Aurora Wings Once Upon A Dream or Nightmare challenge.  I am terrified of spiders and bats, so I went with the nightmare portion of the challenge and used a never before used (NBUS) Bat Flower Sprite.  After printing off my image, I colored it using both prismacolor and copic markers before stippling some Tim Holtz concord grape and stormy sky distress inks around it before layering.  I then pulled out a spider web embossing folder, ran it through my big shot, then added to my card.  I then pulled out some purple brads, dew drops, and some NBUS paper flowers as embellishments for my card.

Lavender And Laundry

Hello and welcome.  Today I'd like to share a card I made for this week's Sunday Songs and Rhymes challenge over at the Outlawz.  The  theme this week is the song Song of the Lavender Fairy from Flower Fairies of the Garden book by Cicely Mary Barker.

For my card I pulled out several of my retired sets from Stampin Up!  After I stamped the lavender flowers from my Vases In Vogue set in memento bamboo ink, I then stamped the slip from Laundry Notes in memento black and colored them using my prismacolor and copic markers.  For the grass, I used the fern stamp from Watercolor Minis in garden green, certainly celery, and green galore inks.  I then stippled some Tim Holtz tumbled glass distress ink around the edges before stamping the butterflies in lavender lace and wisteria inks on to scrap card stock then cutting out.  The only embellishments added were lavender brads and "pinching" up the wings of the butterflies.

Thanks for stopping by today.  Have a great day and don't forget to join us over at the Outlawz this week.

A Coco Inspired Marigold

Hello and welcome!  It's raining FINALLY here in California.  Yay!  Our exhausted fire fighters will finally get some help from Mother Nature.

Today I'd like to share a card I made for Inspired By Music challenge at Aurora Wings using the Marigold Sprite from Aurora Wings.  I probably should have used the Sugar Skull Marigold Sprite but didn't since I don't have this one.  For my card, I went used the colors and theme song Remember Me from the Disney movie Coco.  I printed the image at 3.5x5 since the rain caused another migraine and I could color it easier that way. Once I had my image printed, I colored it using both prismacolor and copic markers before sponging Stampin Up summer sun and rose red inks around the image panel.  After adding some yellow brads, I popped up the image on a white card with Basic Grey Luscious designer paper I've had in my stash for years.  My final embellishments were sponged summer sun and rose red ink around the edges of the card, a red/orange organdy ribbon, and dew drops before spritzing some rose red ink over the image.

Pumpkin Spice Latte With A Kitty

Hello and welcome.  Since my migraines are not bothering me as much today, I'd like to share a card I made for a friend who LOVES pumpkin spice lattes and is also a volunteer for a no kill animal shelter.  She's been going through a lot lately so I thought this little sweet kitty would help cheer her up.

I started out by dry embossing my card using a cuttlebug Autumn embossing folder then stippling some pumpkin dye ink over it.  Afterwords, I then embossed a purple border using the same folder before stippling some Tim Holtz concord grape distress ink.  Once I stamped my Pumpkin Spice Kitty image from Impression Obsession in memento black and colored using both prismacolor and copic markers.  After edging the image panel with a memento black dew drop ink pad, I stippled more Tim Holtz concord grape distress ink around the edge before layering and adding brads.  The only other embellishments used are some prima flowers from my stash with ice stickle center.

Ebony And Ivory

Hello everyone and welcome.  Today I'd like to share a card I made as Guest Designer for the Outlawz Sunday Songs and Rhymes challenge.  This week the challenge theme is the song Ebony and Ivory.

Song:  Ebony and Ivory
Ebony and ivory live together in perfect harmony

Side by side on my piano keyboard, oh Lord, why don't we?

For my card, I wanted to create something that showed how we, as a society, treat each other (stealing, bullying, etc) and decided to go with an old Western theme.  I pulled out two retired sets from The Cats Pajamas (Happy Trails, Howdy) along with the Cloud Border CutUps die.  After stamping my scene in memento black onto some ivory card stock and scraps, I colored everything using both prismacolor and copic markers.  I then cut out everything I wanted to pop up before stippling some Tim Holtz brushed corduroy, tumbled glass and Adirondack caramel inks onto the card and image panel before layering onto black and ivory card stock.  I then die cut my cloud border twice, cut apart, then stippled the same inks onto each one before popping them up as well.  The only embellishments I added were vintage brads and some hand drawn "birds" in the background.  Here's the completed card:

Commitment and Insanity

Hello and welcome.  Sorry it's been a bit since my last post.  I've been dealing with some health issues again.  Today I'd like to share a card I made for the Bugaboo Stamps Make Us Smile challenge.  Since I needed a smile myself, I decided to make an early anniversary card for my husband.  Since I know he doesn't follow my blog, it's safe posting here.

For my card I decided to use the Stella and Gus Commitment and Insanity image.  After downloading the image file, I split the saying up and put the commitment part in the top left corner and the insanity part in the bottom right using photoshop.  Once I had the image printed and colored using both prismacolor and copic markers, I suddenly decided to cut the insanity part away from my combined image.  I then stippled basic grey dye ink around the image and separated insanity before layering.  Once I had my card made, I also stippled basic grey around the card before adding my layered saying and image.  The only embellishments I used were some baby brads, and prima flowers with ice stickles for the center.

Thanks for stopping by today.  Have a great day.

Hello and again welcome.  Tonight I'd like to share a card I made using another retired image from Simply B Stamps.   Since this Thursday is the official start of  football here in the United States, I decided to use Jude's Longest Yard and is a digital stamp I haven't had the chance to use yet.  Once I printed the image out onto white card stock and colored using both prismacolor and copic markers, I stippled some Tim Holtz tumbled glass, brushed corduroy distress inks along with some garden green dye ink from Stampin Up!  Since I didn't have any silver card stock in my stash (Raiders fan here), I then layered it onto some black and basic grey card stock before adding silver brads.  My saying was made using a retired MFT Stamps alphabet set on to some scrap black/grey card stock.

Hello Weekend!!!

Welcome!  Yay it's Friday!!!  This is my third post of the day.  For all other challenge entries, please scroll down.  Thank you.

Since I was hurting pretty bad again last night, I tried to focus on something else like coloring.  I'd like to share with you two cards I made using retired images from Simply B Stamps.

The first card was made for a friends mom who's recovering from a car accident.  I colored the image using both prismacolor and copic markers before stippling Tim Holtz tumbled glass distress ink around the edges; layering then adding black button brads.  I then made the card background by rolling a retired Stampin Up Dot to Dot wheel in real red dye ink.  After stamping the saying onto scrap paper using memento tuxedo black ink, I punched it out using my largest Stampin Up whale punch.  The only other embellishments added were some prima flowers and bling from my stash.

My second card was made using Betty's retired Be Silly image.  After coloring it using both prismacolor and copic markers, I stippled some Stampin Up basic grey ink around the edges before layering on scrap card stock from my Lola card.  The only embellishments added were red brads and some red bling to make a "choker" necklace.

Window Friendship

Hello and welcome.  Post #2 today.  If you're looking for my Bugaboo Ladybug card, please scroll down one post.

Today I'd like to share with you a card I made for a couple more challenges.  Since I was in a lot of pain today and was trying to keep my mind off the pain, I figured coloring would be a bit relaxing.  I've been wanting to use this Stamps Happen stamp that's been in my stash for years, so I finally inked the baby up.  After stamping the image in memento tuxedo black ink onto white card stock, I then colored it using both prismacolor and copic markers before stippling some Tim Holtz tumbled glass distress ink around the edges. After adding some blue button brads, I pulled out some mulberry paper scraps, layered them and then trimmed the edges off using an old fiskars seagull decorative scissors. Once the card was assembled, I stamped the saying from a long retired Stampin Up set.

Hello and welcome.  Today I'd like to share a card I made using a ladybug image from Bugaboo Digital Stamps.  I'm going to assume the image is now retired since I can't find it the store anymore. After importing the image into MSWord, I typed the "Got a bug" saying underneath it, then saved the combined image as a PDF.  Once I was finished printing the image, I colored it using both prismacolor and copic markers before layering, adding brads and popping it up over a punched grass border. The only other embellishments I used were some prima flowers with ice stickle centers and a small punched ladybug.

Mermaids And Snowmen Plus More NBUS

Hello and welcome.  Today I'd like to share a couple of cards I made while trying at the time to "deal" and "focus" on something other than my health.  You see, with all of the fires burning in California right now, my asthma is causing some breathing problems.  My chronic migraines are also not happy.

The first card I'm sharing I made using the Journey Home digital image from Aurora Wings.  My image is colored using both prismacolor and copic markers then highlighted with diamond ice stickles, sand dollar brads, silk flowers, pearls, stickers and small googlie eyes for the fish.  My card was made using Stampin Up card stock and the retired Sandy Shells wheel.

I'd like to enter this card into the following challenges:

Aurora Wings #70 - Sketch Challenge
Outlawz Songs and Rhymes - Little Mermaid

My second card is made using the Snowman Blocks digi from Bugaboo Stamps.  The image is colored using both prismacolor and copic markers with Tim Holtz broken china distress ink stippled around it.  The card base is made using scrap card stock, and scrap designer paper I've had for years.  The borders are dry embossed scrap card stock using the Cuttlebug snowflakes embossing folder.  I highlighted portions of the snowman blocks using a blue gel pen then added some snowflake and bell brads before popping the panel up using pop dots.  I finished with three small metal stickers.

I'd like to enter this card into the following challenges:

True Friends And Some More NBUS

I'd like to share a card I made for a friend using the True Friends digi from Simply B Stamps.  The image is colored using prismacolor watercolor pencils with Tim Holtz tumbled glass distress ink stippled around the edges.  The card is made using Stampin Up card stock and Basic Grey Kioshi designer paper.

I'm really happy with how this card turned out and I used up some more of my never before used stash (NBUS) by using my purple prima flowers and pearl bling.  I'd also like to enter this card into the following challenges:

Outlawz Monday Greetings - Just Because
Pammies Inky Pinkies 1833 - Anything Goes

Thanks for stopping by today.  Have a great day.

Life's A Beach; More NBUS

Hello and welcome.  Today I'd like to share a card I made using the Sassy Gal Beach from Bugaboo Digital Stamps.  My image is colored using both prismacolor and copic markers with Tim Holtz broken china, marmalade and brushed corduroy distress inks stippled around it before layering and adding some brads.  The card is made using the Tim Holtz sunburst embossing folder with Stampin Up green galore ink sponged over and around it.  After adding some ribbon, I popped up the image panel using pop dots over the embossed card.  My final embellishments were adding some punched flowers, hand drawn seagulls and ice stickles.  I'm really happy with how this turned out especially since I've been dealing with some health issues besides my migraines. Also bonus "points" for using some never before used stuff (NBUS - ribbon, image)

I'd like to enter this into the following challenges:

Catch The Bug - August Anything Goes
Outlawz Festive Fridays - Anything Goes
Outlawz Songs and Rhymes - Little Mermaid

Thanks for stopping by today.  Have a great day!

Do The Mash!!

Hello and welcome.  Today I'd like to share a card I made for the Impression Obsession It's A Guy Thing challenge.  For my take on the challenge, I went with something for all the "little guys" in our lives.  The whole time I was making this card, I kept having the lyrics from Bobby Pickett's song Monster Mash going thru my head.

I was working in the lab late one night
When my eyes beheld an eerie sight
For my monster from his slab began to rise
And suddenly to my surprise

He did the mash
He did the monster mash

I started out by pulling some Halloween designer paper scraps to help dictate the colors I would use before stamping the monsters from the Monster Mash #CL886 set and the separate Monster Mash #C14744 saying in memento tuxedo black ink.  Once that was done, I colored the images using both copic and prismacolor markers then stippled some grey dye ink over and around the image panels to "age" them a bit and then layered the panels.  After assembling my card, I used some bat brads from my stash and added some googlie eyes to all of the monsters.  As an after thought, I pulled out a black copic spica and white gel pen to highlight the spider webs before adding one more googlie eye to the letter "O" in the saying.  I'm very happy with how the card turned out.

You can join in the challlenge as well here until August 21st at 7:00 pm CST.  Thanks for stopping by today.  Have a great day.  I now leave you with the Monster Mash music so you too may sing along too.

The Most Wonderful Time Of The Year

Although my own children are not in school, or college, anymore, I still totally enjoy this old Staples commercial.  You just have to love back to school, right?  ;)

Well now...

Hello and welcome.  I didn't realize it's been so long since my last post and I do apologize.  My health took a serious "nose dive" these last few months.  I will try to keep up on my blogging from here on out.

Crappy Day!

Hi and welcome.  Sorry it's been a while since my last post, I'm having a terrible time with my chronic migraines right now.  The weather changes are playing havoc with my pain levels.

Today I'm sharing a card I made (since I couldn't sleep) for a couple of challenges using the Oh Crap digital stamp set from Bugaboo Stamps.  After printing off my image, I colored the image using both prismacolor and copic markers.  Once that was done, I layered it then added some vintage brads along with some felt flowers I've had in my stash for a few years.  After stamping my card background using a retired Stampin Up ephemera stamp, I added some dew drops along with highlighting the flies wings using a copic spica pen to finish everything off.

Challenges entered:

Catch The Bug 5/5 - Anything Goes
Outlawz Festive Friday FF050418 - Anything Goes

Thanks for stopping by today.  Have a great day!
