My first card is a clean and simple (CAS) example for you using today's featured set, All Postal, along with some cuttlebug border embossing folders I had forgotten were in my stash.  Have you ever had some really cool stamping supplies and just plain forgot they were there?  Geez, I think I need to go through my stash more often.  However, I digress.

After stamping the crocus postage image three times in memento tuxedo black ink onto MFP white card stock, I then colored the images with koh-i-noor pencils with a blender marker before layering.  Once the layering was finished, I then dry embossed three stitched borders by running the "forgotten about" embossing folder through my big shot directly onto the card before adding the layered image.

My second card has more of a vintage feel after pairing some Prima Botanical designer paper with MFP desert sand card stock and a stamped strip of deep olive card stock.  Both of my main images are stamped in memento tuxedo black ink onto corn husk card stock then colored with koh-i-noor pencils and a blender marker.  Once the coloring was finished, I stippled Tim Holtz tumbled glass distress ink lightly over and around the images before adding a layer of brushed corduroy distress ink to finish the "aging process".  After popping up my images over the stamped border, I lightly stippled some artichoke ink around the edges of the card and designer paper before stamping my saying at the bottom and adding ice stickles to highlight both the butterfly and amaryllis flower.  I just love how this postage set combined so well with Garden Art and Amaryllis Definition.

Thanks for stopping by today.  Have a great day and don't forget to stop by the rest of the design team blogs to leave some love for a chance to win today's featured set.

I have to say I absolutely LOVE today's featured set and had so much fun making samples for you.

First up is a card I made using the cute little frog image with the rain clouds paired with some SEI Black Orchid designer paper from my stash.  After stamping the main image in memento tuxedo black onto MFP white card stock and coloring with prismacolor markers, I then layered the image onto some teal and turquoise card stocks before adding some faux brads then adding to my card.  Then I stamped some additional frog and cloud images onto white scrap paper, colored and cut out to pop up later using dimensionals.  Before adding my embellishments, I lightly stippled Tim Holtz stormy sky and forest moss distress inks as a last minute thought.  Once the stippling was finished, I added my popped up images, ice stickles, primas, metal rain stickers, and some polka dotted ribbon from my stash.  The final touch was a pair of googlie eyes onto the frog for a bit of whimsy and then my saying stamped in the lower right hand corner.

My second card uses the umbrella image stamped onto MFP white card stock and colored with prismacolor markers before layering onto Stampin Up! scraps before adhering at an angle to a card with Die Cuts With A View Pocket Full Of Posies designer paper.  Before adding my faux brads, I lightly stippled some Tim Holtz tumbled glass around the edges before stamping my saying.  The only embellishments I added were some punched butterflies and flowers with bling centers.

Thanks for stopping by today.  Have a great day and don't forget to stop by the rest of the design team blogs to leave some love for a chance to win today's featured set.

I have to say that I absolutely LOVE this new set by Mark's Finest Papers, a Heinrich Company since it has so much potential.

My first card shows a classic black/white combination with a pop of color.  After stamping the small hummer image twice onto MFP white card stock in memento tuxedo black and coloring with prismacolor markers, I cut one image out to pop up later.  Once the coloring the was finished and layered, I added a background layer of SEI Black Orchid designer paper before adding ribbon, brads and then the popped up hummer image highlighted with ice stickles.

My second card shows a softer side with the set along with some Prima Botanical designer paper.  After stamping my image in memento tuxedo black onto MFP white card stock and colored with koh-i-noor pencils with a blender marker, I then lightly stippled some Tim Holtz tumbled glass distress ink around the image before layering.  The embellishments I decided to add were a key and lock brad set, ribbon, and some scrabble stickers spelling out LOVE.

With St. Patty's Day coming up I thought I would show you a couple of different ways to use today's featured set.

First up is a clean and simple (CAS) card I made by just stamping the large shamrock in the lower right hand corner and coloring with koh-i-noor pencils and a blender marker before stamping the saying further up the card.  The only embellishments I added to it was some bling to the center of the shamrock and some ribbon I've had in my stash for years.

My second card features the leprechaun from Lots of Luck paired with Scenic Selections.  After stamping my images in memento tuxedo black onto MFP white card stock and colored with prismacolor markers, I stippled Tim Holtz tumbled glass and forest moss distress inks around the edges before stamping some birds and grass from Scenic Selections.  After popping up the image panel over some ribbon from my stash, I added a few bling shamrocks, faux brads, and ice stickles to the center of the colored shamrocks in the pot.

I did pretty much the same color and embellishment scheme for my third card only changed the saying and background designer paper.  The pot of shamrocks has also been popped up using pop dots and has ice stickles highlighting the centers.

Thanks for stopping by today.  Have a great day and don't forget to stop by the rest of the design team blogs to leave some love for a chance to win today's featured set.

Serenity Bay

Hello and welcome to Monday.  For those who watched the Super Bowl yesterday, wasn't that a fantastic game?

Today I am sharing a card I made for this month's Craft A Scene Lighthouse challenge.  I started out by stamping my main lighthouse image from Mark's Finest Papers, a Heinrich Company set called Island Life in memento tuxedo black onto MFP white card stock before coloring it with koh-i-noor pencils and a blender marker.  Once all of the coloring was finished, I stamped the grass blades from Scenic Selections in Tim Holtz forest moss before stamping the birds from Scenic Selections and the fishermen from Silhouette Mini Selections in memento black.  Then I stippled some Tim Holtz tumbled glass distress ink for the sky then layered before adding some Making Memories sand dollar brads.  The final touch was to stamp some shells from Silly Shells directly onto the card before adding my layered image using glue dots.

Thanks for stopping by today.  Have a great day.

Rejoice!

Hello and welcome to February!!  With the start of the new month, it also means the start of a new month long Christmas challenge for the Splitcoaststampers Fan Club.  This month we are calling the theme: May I *case* you. Create a Christmas Themed card by Casing anyone on SCS and give a link to the creation you cased. Be sure to change at least 2 details of the original, give a link to the original in your post and who you cased.  Use the following keywords, SCSCCFEB13, and make sure to add a link in the thread so we all can see your creation.  You must be a SCS Fan Club member to participate, so if you're not, join up!

The exciting part for me with this months challenge is I was asked to make a sample for it. Yeah me!  For my SCS gallery member, I chose my friend jojot (Joanne) and CASED this card of her's here then changed the stamp sets used, color combination and decided not to do any embossing.

I started out by stamping my main image from Winter Scenes from Mark's Finest Papers, a Heinrich Company in memento tuxedo black onto MFP white cards stock before coloring with prismacolor markers and cutting out.  Then I stamped the snowflakes from Winter Scenes in Stampin Up! bliss blue ink as a background before stippling the same ink on both matching layers and adding to a brilliant blue card.  Before I added my cut out image, I also stippled bliss blue ink around the edges of the tree so it would stand out on the blue background before also adding the saying and diamond ice stickles to highlight a few snowflakes.

Thanks for stopping by today.  Have a great day.
