Today I am sharing with you another quick and easy Christmas gift, or gift for anytime of the year, using Mark's Finest Papers, a Heinrich Company's newest set called Kilt Fun.  Now when I first saw this stamp set, I immediately thought of Jock from Disney's© movie Lady and the Tramp© and that cute little song he sang in it.  So I decided to make a checkbook cover based on my inspiration.

After removing the black white card stock insert, I stamped the kilt repeatedly to make my own pattern on both sides of the insert before coloring with prismacolor markers.  Once my stamping and coloring were finished, I stippled Tim Holtz fired brick and pine needles distress inks around the edges of the insert.  Then I stamped the dog and fire hydrant from Kilt Fun and tree from Tree Greetings onto scrap white card stock in memento tuxedo black ink before also coloring with prismacolor markers and cutting out to adhere with glue dots then reinserting into the plastic cover.  Another variation of this idea is to take the small pocket calenders you can pick up in the dollar sections at Target, Michael's, etc and add your own altered insert instead of using the picture cover insert included with the calender.  Just take the calender out, trace it onto white card stock, and personalize the calender from there.

Thanks for stopping by today.  Have a great day and don't forget to stop by the rest of the design team blogs to leave some love for a chance to win today's featured set.
